During the Easter holidays this year, my daughter and I attended a two-hour horse management course with Pippa Grob.   We were thinking about getting a horse, but wanted to make sure we were prepared for the undertaking.

The course was tailored to our needs, looking at horse management; from the basics of day to day care, stabling, feeding and grazing through to what to look for when buying a horse.

Pippa is very practical, informative and immensely knowledgeable.

I gained reassurance that I was quite knowledgeable in certain areas, but I feared the prospect of finding something suitable through the equine-market minefield!  My daughter found the course really helpful, such content not being taught through  8 years of riding lessons.It is really tricky trying to find a horse when you haven’t owned one before, as most people selling or loaning a horse want it to go to an experienced home.  Those who don’t, generally are looking to off- load a problem.  The more I looked into it and heard various stories, the more I thought it was unlikely to ever happen.

Then, out of the blue our ‘horsey-guardian angel’ left a message.  By chance, Pippa had found a potential horse for us.  The rest is history.  But I cannot say enough in words how grateful we are to Pippa.  She has held our hands the whole way.  At livery with her, we are on a vertical learning curve, being encouraged to push our boundaries for the benefit of a happy horse.  There is no way we could have done this without Pippa’s generosity of time and desire to help.  The whole family feels truly blessed to have found such a wonderful horse and a truly admirable lady.
